**OS** is object storage service. It is based on open software [[https://github.com/seaweedfs/seaweedfs|SeaweedFS]].

SeaweedFS is self hosted equivalent to [[https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/userguide/Welcome.html|Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3)]].

SeaweedFS is a simple and highly scalable distributed file system. There are two objectives:
  * to store billions of files!
  * to serve the files fast!
