AWS CLI S3

The AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI) is a unified tool to manage AWS services ( including AWS S3 ).

CeNT's Object Store implements the same protocol ( S3 ) that is why it is possible to use this tool.

install / update

Install and update process is described here : https://docs.aws.amazon.com/cli/latest/userguide/getting-started-install.html

In shared environments, like ``pier23``, ``jumphost-17`` where you do not have a root privileges install / update process is very similar, with exception that destination path where tool is installed need to be changed.

./aws/install --update -i ~/.local/aws-cli --bin-dir ~/.local/bin
configure awscli

Use command `aws configure` to create default configuration. You can provide your real 'AWS Access Key ID', 'AWS Secret Access Key' instead of 'A', 'B' I provided.

$ aws configure
AWS Access Key ID [None]: A
AWS Secret Access Key [None]: B
Default region name [None]: us-east-1
Default output format [None]: json

Above will create two new files in ~/.aws/ folder. Notice file permissions.

$ tree ~/.aws -p
├── [-rw-------]  config
└── [-rw-------]  credentials
